PNB weird netbanking behavior on Aadhaar status

Hi Everyone,

I have a PNB account that works without a hitch. It was opened via vKYC but I went to the branch submitted all the documents manually and picked up the passbook. It works flawlessly.

However, I have noticed a strange thing from day 1. When I click on the "View Aadhaar Number" button I get an error

I am not able set UPI pin via Aadhaar (Debit card works just fine)

Few details:

1. KYC status shows as "compliant" in netbanking
2. I can see my CKYC no in the bank statement
3. The bank statement has a field "Aaadhar Flag" which is set to "Y"

I tried to raise a request using "Aadhaar Registration" option in Netbanking in Oct 2023 just to be extra sure, but it's just in a pending state

I checked with the branch, they can see my Aadhaar in the backend so there is nothing to do.

I'm just trying to get clarification. Do I have to do something about this? I don't want any issues with this account, as it would be critical in emergencies.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,
Yash

My suggestion: Since u mentioned "critical" Leave PNB and move forward to better banks.

Recommendation:

1. SBI - Open regular savings account (offline only)

2. BOB - Open online, smooth experience

3. Central Bank - Same like BOB, app is good, INB is not.
1 branch visit required atleast - for physical KYC, passbook collection and cheque book activation. Post that rest 10 yrs.

4. HDFC
5. Axis Bank

I am planning to open the Cent Queen Account (joint with my wife, I am not a queen myself). I am avoiding a branch visit, let's see.
