Post pictures of your defunct Credit/Debit Cards.
They could be defunct because:
- The issuing bank has shut down (Centurion Bank).
- The issuing bank has merged with another bank (Corporation & Andhra - Union / Syndicate & Dena - Canara).
- The bank has changed its name (UTI - Axis).
- The bank has exited India or exited the Credit Card Market in India (Citibank - Axis).
- The variant of the card has been discontinued by the bank.

Here are mine:
- SBI Credit Card (No variant name) discontinued by SBI.
- Centurion Bank Debit Card. Bank shut down.
- Corporation Bank Credit Card. Bank merged with Union Bank. SBI.webp Centurion.webp CORP.webp

Centurion bank merged with bank of Punjab, became CBoP, which later merged to HDFC Bank.

Will lapsed /meged (Stocks/shares) work, inplace of card 😉

One should physically destroy the card, as the embedded chip n mag strip at the back do contain the readable data. So is the signature visible.

Ideally, old cards MUST be destroyed. You may note down the details, buy why have attachment to them n hold on to them ?

Oh😯 It's amazing 🤩 that SBI card still hadn't changed its logo.

Meanwhile I think rarely few people in this forum will have such old cards. Most of us are newbies
SBI was my 2nd card. My first was the BOBCARD. I had it but recently my wife cut and destroyed all the old cards. Few of them somehow slipped through the net.
Par vo toh cut karke fek dene ko likha hota hai are you not following the terms of service sir

By holding the expired cards, Sir Ji also mitigating the chance of misuse.☝️👏

The procedure for cutting and destroying was when swiping meant putting it in a kind of holder wit the charge slip on top and taking a carbon impression. Now with everything in the chip, the moment the card is deactivated all the data in the chip is useless.

Thanks for sharing fine details.👏

Leave any living or dead ATM/Debit/Credit Card/Cheque book., Careless attitude(handling) with any financial product or service can lead to bigger disaster.
