Yes, I do that. The best way to do it is to setup a forwarding rule in your actual email to forward your credit card statement to the burner email. This also results in all your credit card statements cleanly consolidated at one place !

Yes, go a create a new gmail account just for credit card statements that doesn't have any other emails / not used anywhere else.
The forward your statements using a gmail filter to the new email account and register that account in Cred for smart statement.
Voila, Cred has smart statements for all your cards without access to any other emails
