Query - limit for UPI payment via RuPay Credit Card

Hi,

I have PNB Credit Card and activated it in BHIM for making UPI payments at merchants.

I was using it at Amazon.in for a transaction of Rs 10000 (first one for the month and for the day) and it gave an error - "NET DEBIT CAP IN EXCEEDED".

Tried another transaction of Rs 9000 and that too failed. What can be the reason?

Amazon UPI handle which requested money was:

amazon@yapl

Checked in PNB Netbanking and there seems no way to limit/modify at PNB end.

So confused. Also tagging @Abhishek012 in case he has some inside info 🙂

EDIT: Seems like stablization issues at PNB / NCPI. But later on, was even able to do a single transaction of Rs 35K

No idea. Try small amount transaction.

currently you can only make single payment upto 2000.

No, @Bigde already paid Rs3500 insurance payment via PNB RuPay CC linked UPI.

Note - Transaction under 2k is free for small merchants, no MDR charges.

Transaction above 2k charged MDR from merchants.

May be he way non verified merchant. In that case limit is 2000.

RuPay credit card linked with UPI is currently on beta testing. Wait atleast 1 year, also PNB is worst bank. 🤣🤣

you can make Payment only to verified merchants (agent verified).

NPCI has introduced this new rule of Net Debit Cap, Where each UPI player or app like Gpay, PhonePe etc is assigned with a transaction limits (wheather amount or number, no clear) and only that number of transactions can be done through that app. If that particular app exhausted the transaction limit, then user have to use other app to make payment.

Apparently, this is done to reduce the monopoly of apps like Gpay or Phonepe because they have over 70% market share combined.

So, if you get same error again then try doing transaction after an hour or so.

Hmmm ? I have only one Rupay Credit Card!

1)try with txn is then 5k in first 24 hrs
2)try after 24hrs(android) 72hrs(ios)
3)reset,delink & relink if above methods fail
4) contact upi cc helpline 😛

It was Rs. 35,000 and not Rs. 3500, amount was paid to United India Health Insurance.
