Randomly applied amex credit card

Today, I was thinking of getting a credit card from a new bank, but I've already gotten cards from most banks, except AU and AMEX. So, I searched for an instant AMEX credit card on Google and applied for the Platinum Travel Credit Card (which I didn't even need at all). I received a message saying the card was conditionally approved.

I immediately got an email to complete VKYC, which I did.

Now, my question is: Will I have home and office verification as the next steps? If yes, the verification agent will likely call me before visiting my home. What should I say during the call to get the application canceled?

Furthermore, if the card gets approved after physical verification, should I keep it? I already have 8 credit cards from different banks, and I often struggle with where to use them since I don't like purchasing expensive or unnecessary items. The AMEX card has an annual fee of ₹3,500 + GST.

I've already done this kind of impulsive application before( in May) and ended up getting 3 credit cards in a single month.

Let the card come and do not acivate it. No activation, no charges. If they do, you can get it refunded or even compensated (if reaches RBIO).

Or just experiment when kyc happens. Like pretend you are talking to some businessman for hafta vasuli. Or ask him if you can bribe him Rs 30 for successfully doing KYC. 😁

Yes the agent will call you but physical verification depends from case to case.

My opinion is that if you don't need it, don't activate it but if you so and you can spend 4L in an year on the card, you will get great returns on your spending

Agent call is also case to case. I recently applied for the same card and 2-3 days after VKYC, I got mail that application is approved. In this case, like others suggest, don't activate it and call customer care to cancel
