Received a 2,500 EDGE Points Retention Bonus from Axis

Ekavya

TF Ace
I had around 8,500 EDGE reward points in my account, but after Axis's reevaluation, they deducted approximately 500 points. This left me stranded, as I could no longer redeem an Amazon voucher, which required 10,000 points.

Hoping for a resolution, I decided to call Axis and request the cancellation of my Ace credit card. The representative tried to convince me to keep it, emphasizing that it was a premium card and that very few people were getting it. However, I insisted on canceling it anyway.

In response, he offered me 2,500 EDGE reward points if I chose to retain the card. I gladly accepted the offer, which allowed me to reach the required points for the Amazon voucher.

Try same thing again after 6 months, you will again get 2000 more. 😀 😛

Tell them that Annual Fees is eating all the benefits that you are getting from the rewards or cashback. So keeping it isn't worth the value. Then they will try to remind you again about the benefits of the card. But you have to keep reminding them that Annual Fees is the problem. Then they will give you retention benefit.

I Just called my RM and she told them credit card team can't give that but on start of cancellation process - Retention team may call you guys and then offer you the rewards or some benefits. But, it is not certain - that they will offer or just mail/call to confirm the cancellation - or they might even not call.

Any experience share on this??

Don't chat or Send email. Nobody will try to reatain you.

Only Call customer executive. They will probably send your call to retention team.
