same with me. my parents had their own select card. when I got wealth, I wanted to give them wealth addon. idfc denied.

in your case, you can close addon and then apply for main, right?
no use in holding 2 core cards, just keep the higher variant.

I was having add on when I got pre approved offer in 2022. I still have that add on along with my Primary card.

Got addon for my wife's Select for myself and a few months later got Wealth as primary for self . Both online and issued.. No prior relationship.

Also Wealth addon for wife too.

That addon page is like a hit or miss IMO. Kept trying for wealth addon for a few times before it worked.

First primary and then add on. But as others pointes out, we can't exactly predict. It's a hit or miss kind of thing.

1st I took add on. After some months I got pre approved Primary Card.

As per customer care executive, add-on card number will be different and lounge access will be in shared basis.
My doubt is as we have different card number for primary and addon, what about BOGO movie offer on paytm. Generally primary card holder will get 2 BOGO in a month for wealth credit card. Is it possible to claim add on card holders BOGO movie offer? Like 2+2?

LTF and can claim up to 3 add-on cards.

You will get additional Buy one get one movie benefits in add-on card too. Verified.
Only lounge access will be in shared basis.
