Tldr, as per fame II scheme, manufacturers will only get the subsidy if the vehicle costs below 1.5L. So the companies made separate invoices for chargers, but the respected body denied to provide FAME II subsidy as they believe chargers form integral part of electric two wheelers.
Hence the Ministry of Heavy Industries( i dont know exact ministry related to it), with hold their 22-23 payments and demanded the above companies to provide refund to existing owners. Each company is providing refund on different basis, i own ather and today received this (https://forum.atherenergy.com/t/update-on-fame-ii-guidelines-and-chargers/136376?u=narendrapatil899) on their forum.
My request to all the EV owners is simple, if you qualify as an eligible owner for refund (recently purchased charger for exorbitant cost), then please do follow up to your respective company and claim your refund. They are not doing this out of good will, ola, ather, tvs have 1,000 cr and 400cr stuck respectively. Hence, they are refunding 130cr for chargers.
If you receive any notification via registered email address, please do share with us as well. Please do not let these companies get away with shady practices!
