Replacing Magnus rewards rate is very tough. But you are not looking at the immediate alternate which is HDFC Infinia. If you are eligible for Infinia go for it, else your replacement seems good.

1. Amex Platinum, Atlas are good for travel returns. (good choice)
2. If you've Vistara connectivity try to maintain Axis Vistara cards, they have good return value too(consider vistara merging to AI also).
3. If you are removing Magnus you don't have any card that compensate BOGO offer, if you use it well try to have some ICICI card that offers BOGO.

Hi, I dont have a existing relation to HDFC, I am talking to HDFC to shift it , but will take time for infinia thus this is the plan till then

I've been getting Ace invite since forever (with 500 cashback, effectively making it FYF) but never opted for it as I already have Infinia and Magnus. But now with Magnus deval, do you think it makes sense to get the Ace as a backup Axis card, in case I decide to close the Magnus early next year?

Axis ACE is a really good backup card.

What's the point of Ace? You already have Infinia ( 3.3% vs 2% )
Get Axis Airtel for utility, atleast 10% cashback on utility bills. Ace 5% is capped at Rs500/month. So, on a bill of Rs10,000 you get 330 rp with Infinia vs 500 with Ace , i.e. Rs170 incremental. If you do it through the whole year, then Rs2000 incremental vs Rs 580 fee .
So lower that Rs500 gain on a best case.
The cashback capping has killed this card for me.
