Reward Point vs Cashback Card & My journey of cc i have collected so far

let me first tell you the reason behind this posting which is my math is bad , like really bad i knew hdfc was the best card but as you watch and see people getting so many card you wonder and try to level and forget the one you already have which was the hdfc for me best , so first cc was hdfc moneyback and after 6 year it now infinia , so @AllSeeker made me realized i have the best and yet i use cashback card only pro was i get cashback in the next statement where 70% capping on hdfc, so pls get cc which are unconditional cc as @souvikdey2002 have mentioned before cause you might realized your not using the best cc and using cashback card cause the name is attractive, i hope through this post you guys understand and get the clear idea. and i hope you don't make the same mistake like me and i forget to add voucher i had redeem through cc in excel. axis and inifinia dominated the most cause spend was higher on fk and 2nd hdfc

And I'm holding infinia for 1.5 year and i do have hdfc account back in 2014 8 had opened and pre approved offer for 40k and i took cause i was in college and cc was something i had every little clue but my dad had tons of i took PayTM first cc in 2019 my second card only cause it was LTF and i never thought of getting another cause i was never knew much about cc either only took PayTM first cause of it offer some kind of domestic access to lounge i believe, and my third was apay cause i had user to buy from amazon.com back in 2012 to 2014 so amazon.in was no brainer but got delayed for some mistake from agent side so got the card in 2021 after tons of delayed. 5th axis fk , forget to add amex in 2018 it was 2nd then 😅. And rest is history

yes, and like I mentioned, HDFC CC is best, no matter what kind of sepends you have.

I personally use Millennia for almost all my spends, also HDFC offers time to time spend based voucher offers. For example right now I've offer for spending 20k something till 31st may and getting 500-1000k amazon voucher.

Usually I don't pay attention to these as I don't like to "spend just to earn voucher", but people who spend high, should certainly give priority to HDFC, Infinia>DCB>Regalia=Millennia>Moneyback.

By the way, I do have other 9-10 cards too but I love my HDFC one. 🤣 🤣

You perhaps don't need 90% of the cards in that list, the rat race for getting as many credit cards or even LTF credit cards do not make sense after the initial euphoria is over. I see a lot of people doing that here, its basically adrenaline rush.

I think HDFC Infinia and Apay ICICI (for cashbacks are worth your time), the rest of them may well very much dispensable.

I have a Regalia LTF (earlier this was my primary card, now using it only for Airport Lounge Access), and use Apay ICICI card now as primary (as I get paid instantly at end of the month, no cashback points conversion drama, I need cash/cash-like, and utilize it for paying electricity bills, amazon shopping). Of late only opted for IDFC Credit card for movies. No further plans to upgrade my credit card kitty. Even HDFC notifies now and then about spending XXXX to get XX voucher, naah ain't falling for that dude 😆!

Eat less, but eat well and good is the motto.

When does HDFC give first update on first CC (limit/variant upgrade)
Not sure, but if you are utilizing it high then it should be around the corner. But make sure you keep checking that net portal. HDFC app is kind bad, bad for everything. Also, unlike axis, they do not call for upgrade offer generally, axis will call for variant upgrade (not limit upgrade).

Yes, if you think carefully, that's about it.

I appreciate your disagreement, we agree to disagree 🤣😀🙂
India is full of diversification in terms of lifestyle, language, culture and even mindsets & thought process as well and that is the sole reason different types of products are available in the market per customer needs. 🤗

Exactly that was my mindset when I posted this thread:

After one point of time most would want to make their life simple. TBH most here (including me) don't factor in the time we put in this process (from getting a card to redeeming the reward points earned). 🤷‍♂️

absoultely agree man, even i use idfc for movine, 250 off on 2 ticket , wealth will be card i would like but spending on idfc isn't motivating for 10x reward after 30,000 that too only 0.25 paisa and plus for large transaction either offer would be going on or i will wait for some sale on amazon or in store so other cc of mine will have offer for sure so getting wealth seem impossible under 3 year from now

10X in IDFC just comes to 2.5%

That's even lower after recent devaluation on lower variants. I have IDFC millennia, its safely seating in my cupboard after I got welcome benefit on spends. 🤣
