RuPay Ekaa: A New Ultra-Premium Tier RuPay Card Coming Soon? Equivalent to Visa Infinite?

RuPay Ekaa: A New Ultra-Premium Tier RuPay Card Coming Soon? Equivalent to Visa Infinite?

The Indian card payments ecosystem might soon witness a major shake-up with the rumored launch of RuPay Ekaa, an ultra-premium credit and debit card tier designed to compete directly with Visa Infinite.

Until now, RuPay’s offerings have primarily been limited to Classic, Platinum, and Select tiers, which cover entry-level to mid-premium categories. However, with the growing adoption of RuPay both in domestic and international markets, there’s strong speculation that NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) is gearing up to introduce RuPay Ekaa as its flagship luxury and lifestyle-focused tier.

If launched, RuPay Ekaa could potentially bring features such as:
  • Global Lounge Access (Airport + Railway lounges)
  • Premium Concierge Services
  • Luxury Travel & Hotel Privileges
  • Enhanced Insurance & Protection Benefits
  • Exclusive Dining and Lifestyle Partnerships
  • High Rewards & Cashback Programs
  • 18k Carat Gold Credit Card
The move would place RuPay directly in competition with international giants like Visa Infinite, Visa Signature, and Mastercard World, giving Indian banks and customers a homegrown premium alternative that is cost-effective, globally accepted, and backed by NPCI’s push for digital sovereignty.

While no official confirmation has been released yet, only CRED announced an 18k Carat Gold Credit Card powered by the RuPay Ekaa network. There are also rumors that NPCI may officially announce the RuPay Ekaa card next month.

Mr. Gareeb yeh padho -

A real gold-plated credit card because apparently, a regular metal card just isn’t fancy enough anymore.

Kunal Shah says this is meant to be a status symbol for the ultra-elite, kind of like the Amex Centurion, not your typical rewards-driven credit card.

But honestly, apart from the flashy gold design, there’s almost no info on the actual benefits, fees, or perks.

From what I can tell, it seems more like a luxury collectible than something you’d use every day… though as a credit card geek, I’m definitely tempted.

What’s clear is CRED knows how to make noise, this feels like the Apple Titanium iPhone of credit cards.

Birthday pe launch karwa doh fer.
Wasey UCO HNI DC ne toh kar hi diya hai lagbhg baas naam badalna rah geya hai.

Im confused. Did cred launch 2 cards? Cause i saw one for Indusind which has 0 joining fees but 500 annual fees or something and is invite only.

How do you call something as "premium " or "fancy" when you sell it for 500 rs? How is this even a status symbol? Even kotak metal debit has more self respect than this.

If Ekaa was supposed to be for ultra premium or top of the line, why launch it on a card thats being sold for 500 rs?

This is like saying, look at this beautiful car, it has german components , only available on invite basis but costs just 50000 rs . Its conflicting and weird.

Arent invite-only cards usually damn costly too?

is this a way of saying " Look at this fancy premium product, but since you indians are poor and misers, even though its invite only and top folks get it, you are too poor to pay a good amount , hence its only 500 rs ).

Unlike Visa Infinite / Signature and Mastercard World which are offered on both CC & DC, RuPay Ekaa will be solely CC only.
Looking forward to see some rewarding CCs on the RuPay Ekaa network 😍

baki..saab thik hai.. bass ekaa name..jayda acha nahi laga... select ke baad ekaa!! ...rupay maharaja../ raja / select elite/ select infinity

Not sure what would be the final requirement to apply for Rupay Ekaa cards when launched. But definitely would be interested to apply if I'm eligible or the criteria suits me.
