RuPay launch 'Tap & Pay' on GooglePay app:

I don't think you understood the point.

Most people already have visa/mastercard which work on Google Pay. What advantage would you have if you get the rupay as tap to pay?

If you have a phone you most likely have it detect qr which would just enable the rupay card as the option if the merchent detects it.

And i can't comprehend your grammar here so please elaborate on how saying rupay having tap to pay being redundant is the same as the keypad phone(?)

There is also a difference between samsung flagship and samsung pay. Do you know what samsung pay is?
Here are the conditions where your rupay cc on upi will be of no use
1. No internet on your phone
2. Txn amount greater than 100k
3. Merchant not having UPI QR
4. Merchant with upi not accepting rupay cc payments
5. To use your card for lounge access
6. Pay via merchant emi for instant discounts

Will add any other point if something else strikes my mind

Do you guys really have ability to bear with it? I didn't expect someone can be dumb and confident enough at the same time to engage with such baseless arguments. See, I really don't want to offend or come across as rude but what can one do if someone puts baseless arguments time and again just because of lack of knowledge about its usages. Not only that they don't even try to learn about the same.

If such things are really meaningless, then why are NPCI, Rupay, Google Pay, banks, etc., taking it as an important thing, and working on the same? Have you ever made any contemplation on this?

Do you guys even know about the following? I don't think so, If you had known, then you wouldn't be arguing over such a simple thing :

1) The limit of UPI (merely 1 lac or 2/5 lac for some merchants) & UPI Tap & Pay < Cards ( PINless and with the PIN, it can be even 10 lac, 20 lac).
2) Payment can't be made >2,000 within 24 hours on small merchants. Even large merchants keeps third party QR, where the category of merchant usually remains Small even being large in size & volume of txns, until and unless such merchant cross the threshold consecutively for 3 months on same QR, it remains the same. Let the matter aside of small merchants; P2PM.
3) Payment can be made without internet via contactless payment (cards) but what about CC on UPI or UPI Tap & Pay & its limit.
4) Most secured & fastest way of making transaction? Now don't say, scan and pay is better, here one needs to enter UPI PIN, it's UPI ID, Name, UPI PIN, sometime even Mobile Number are can be leaked easily, also one needs to scan, choose payment methods, enter amount and then have to enter UPI PIN every time.
5) UPI NFC QR or NFC tag is not available everywhere even with the big merchants to make payments via UPI Tap & Pay. I know POS is also not available everywhere but there's existence of Bharat QR, where UPI and Card both can be accepted.
6) SIM binding is a perquisite for UPI but cards can be tokenised with verification of OTP only, hence, there's no mandatory requirement to insert same SIM (RMN), one can even add cards of his/her known one and can transact with it.
7) UPI Global/UPI international doesn't support CC on UPI/UPI Tap & Pay. But Rupay International (JCB, Discover, etc) is acceptable internationally as well.
8) Some merchants don't accept CC on UPI but do accept payments via Card.
9) How MDR can be structured & influenced?
10) One of the reason for favouring Visa/MC over Rupay is because of the lack on such feature, etc. there are many more.

You can not comprehend because of your perception barrier, I can not help there.

Yes, I know very well, what's Samsung Wallet/ Pay is.
If the only cards you hold are rupay cards and you use the phone to make payments via the card, its redundant to add the tap and pay feature on rupay for Google pay because the qr itself should detect the rupay card unless the MC hasn't blocked rupay cards.

Samsung pay on the other hand is a different story since it doesn't have qr option unlike google play and it also works on Samsung smartwatches.
For that Rupay card needs to be tokenised especially on TPAP like Google Pay, and if it gets tokenised then it can offer both the feature of giving option of card by scanning Bharat QR and tap & pay. But you can't understand. Let it be.

First thing I understood from your argue is that you don't have samsung flagship phone, as there is an option to scan & pay in wallet and we can add our RUPAY cards as we do in google pay.(Now there is no any app known as Samsung pay).

Frist of all samsung wallet also works on mid range devices like a16 5g or m16 5g and second can upi be used for Transit such as ncmc on rupay card if rupay hce becomes available it will surely be with ncmc at some point so there is always a place for everything and we should respect their uses and at last please improve your English and grammar and be respectful to everyone

Yeah i need to work on Grammer right, but i think you need to work on vocabulary.

See yourself first and read what conversations are going & then come to conclusions.

And for the part that wallet is in mid range devices, I completely agree but you cannot add cards in it even the handset have NFC.

Even phone like m16 which cost just 11.5k has nfc payment via samsung wallet it has no mst but that is a story for another day and even flagships doesn't support it now
Here i didn't understand your language/"grammer".

Sorry for checking again but here we aren't for English grammar, that's the issue with us, we look into grammar.

I daily connect with US guys and they even don't care about it, if it's understandable by another its good otherwise it's just waste.

Please if anyone able to understand can elaborate.

Don't know what's the point of arguing with you since you still are not able to comprehend what I said but to argue with your points

1. The limit on tap to pay cannot be any higher than 5k unless you reverify it with a pin. This makes the whole idea of the rupay tap to pay on Google pay redundant because nothing is stopping rupay card makes making their own dedicated apps to make transactions.

You also won't get a lot of people having to hold 10, 20 lac limits as most of us are at the range of 1-5 lacs of credit limit. At that point you're better off asking the bank to increase the credit limit instead of thinking that tap and pay option somehow gives you the option to get more credit limit.

2. Not sure where you're going with this because we're discussing about how redundant the rupay tap and pay option for Google pay is.

3. You have the option called upi lite that you can make payments offline...do you not know this?

4. Ok i will give you this one benefit that having scan and pay isn't a safer way compared to tap and pay. That however doesn't make tap and pay more suitable because not every merchant will have the POS machine which means some will opt for the QR code. It also doesn't change the fact that again gpay works for visa and mastercard networks which makes adding rupay redundant unless you only have rupay cards.

Couldn't bother with the rest of your points because your English isn't understandable.

But surely if you know what samsung pay is then you would know that you don't need a samsung flagship for it right?

On a side note I think this is where mods have to come in and moderate posts that promote this damage control. Oh well.
