Salary Account for TCS Employee

marvel

TF Premier
I will be joining TCS with a monthly salary credit of around ₹45,000. Planning to open a salary account, and TCS has tie-ups with Axis, HDFC, SBI, Kotak, Standard Chartered, and ICICI. I already have an HDFC account under a family salary account along with millennia credit card. Which salary account would you suggest for getting a better credit card? Also, is it possible to get a RuPay Select debit card with my salary?

Go for icici as you will get platinum cc ltf with it.. I have heard people cannot get icici cc easily so you can take benefit here.. after getting platinum cc you can try applying apay cc which is the real goal and eventually sapphiro down the line.
Another good cc to have is sbi cashback cc so you can try getting a sbi account too. However, the eligibility is around 18Lpa so you might not be eligible right now for it.

Is sapphiro good card?

Have both apay and sapphiro (fyf) now with icici. Wanted to get cashback cc but was rejected before.

SBI Cashback has 18L p.a eligibility?

Avoid Kotak and Axis, my last org parterned with Axis and gave everyone an option to switch to Axis. People who switched have stories to tell.

Kotak is just useless In that, you won't be able to get CC with them, they will forcefully open an investment account. Just avoid.

Since you already have HDFC add on with a family member, you can get all the benefits without using it as your salary account. Keep the account as is.

SBI: Nope, always open your salary account in a bank you can yell at.

Standard Chartered, HSBC and ICICI: Yes both of them will be good. Your TCS POC might even get you an icici plat credit card with your account without much hassel. You can keep using icici salary account even after you switch to some other bank. Standard Chartered will switch to normal savings right after you change your salary account and you will be hit with charges. I mean nothing wrong with it but just FYI. HSBC will be like ICICI (if you have an option), you will/can get a CC along with salary account.

Had a friend in TCS (IIRC) who told me about monthly CCD and movie coupons with DBS account. See if you have an option.

Avoid Axis, Kotak, any PSU bank (except IOB) for salary account. And prioritize an account that gives you a CC too.
