SBI Credit Card Rejection

Had recently applied for SBI Vistara Prime Credit Card which got rejected. This is the first time I applied for SBI Card. Even asked them for the reason of rejection but didn't get any sensible reply from their end (Just SBI things). What can be the possible cause of rejection?

I have a CIBIL score of above 800, with a decent credit history and on-time repayment record.

The SBI card team is gone mad. My application was rejected and the reason they gave is because I closed my old card. Now nodal office and customer service head are saying to wait for six months to apply again!
