Dear All,

Today I got a call from a supposedly SBI employee from a branch in Delhi. He informed me that he can apply a referral and get me SBI elite or prime card lifetime free.

Is this even possible to get premium SBI cards as lifetime free ?

I Have no association with SBI till now except PPF account.

I went through the same and applied for SBI pulse.
Even before i had activated the card, i was charged the annual fee.
I let it slide as it would be a tedious process to report then close the card, well its SBI and you know how the service is.
So always better to take an email confirmation as it can be used as proof

Yes take it and it not life time free then don't activate it.

But how can they charge activation fee without statement generation ? Sorry this is something new for me to just wanted to know how they levied fee before card activation.

Fee was charged before the first statement was generated. I had not even activated the card that time.

Not sure. I did not proceed ahead as it seems too good to be true to me. Not sure anyone was able to get SBI LTF cards in this way ?

anything and everything possible in banking industry, as long as it processed by proper persons with proper knowledge or way to handle their systems.

do perform your due diligence and apply with some confirmation.

Since there is no statement, where did you see the fees? Did you get an email mentioning the fees?

That explains everything. You must have seen the fees in unbilled transactions.

This card can be ltf if he/she is IIT/IIM student

Just iit/iim or other premier colleges also?
I thought old iit guys got aurum ltf.
Please share the list if you can.

No, I did not go through with it as lot of people warned me against it.
