SBI home branch change - reg

I want to transfer my home branch from Mumbai to Chennai. I went to chennai branch for transfer and they says that you have to give a letter to home branch only. I do not have any work or plan to go to Mumbai and i cannot go exculsively for that. Tried in netbankng and it is not allowing due to some reason. Now, i gave a letter to chennai branch manager for transfer of home branch and he told me that he will forward to Mumbai branch. Any other solution ?.

Can't you change the same via Mobile/ Internet Banking?

Try once, account along with CIF.

Edit: Yes, you have already mentioned you're not able to do it via Internet Banking. So, try using SBI YONO app once. Still, if you're not able to do it, see if you can do aadhar ekyc again, if allowed and then again trying changing online.

If it encounters same problem then if you offline route only. Alternatively, you can raise complaint you're not able to change online, even though there's provision, you're facing some issues (attach screenshot as well). May be they can quote the reason or fix the issues.

Since, you have already submitted the letter, wait for atleast one week. It will be changed internally. If not then request Mumbai branch via mail (you can attach request form as an attachment), I guess they will process it.

As per my understanding either of branch can accept your request and should process it. Better call to their nodal team and raise a complaint on Chennai branch for not accepting the account transfer from Mumbai to Chennai. Hope it works out.
 
Just give written application to Chennai branch head for further processing or you can mail Mumbai branch with your application Mail id of branch will be sbi.xxxxx@sbi.co.in xxxxx is your branch code Please keep in mind it should be 5 digits if your branch does not have 5 digits in branch code then use 0 before your branch code.

I gave the application to Chennai branch and manager assured me that he will forward to Mumbai branch. He was telling me that the home branch don't respond many times even after he talk to them
 
Last year I had visited a local branch in Hyderabad to transfer my account from Kolkata. I submitted a physical application to the BM who scanned and emailed it to the Kolkata branch. After multiple follow ups by the BM and myself nothing happened. The BM basically said he can’t do anything and asked me to visit the Kolkata branch to sort things out. I had to do the same.

Really pathetic and I will be also in similar situation. Chennai branch manager has sent the scanned application form to Mumbai . Let me wait for a week . If not done, I will escalate to customer care/ mail to CMD / Ombudsman/ CPGRAMS..

You should do it from Yono app. I did it last month
