SBI Not Allowing to get the add-on card please help.

My Dad is trying to get me an addon card. He has a SBI prime card. The app shows you're not eligible for an addon card. He is a senior citizen. Could that be the reason? Does anyone have any prior experience ?

Thats surprising. I have applied for 2 addons for Prime MC World and Etihad cards. For both the primary was left untouched and new addon was issued. Last year also had applied for 2 addons for Simply click.

Can you confirm if your add-on cards and primary cards have the same BIN (first 6 digits)?

Yes, checked. They are same 510223.

I think they reissue primary card along with new add-on card with the new BIN if they don't have/can't issue add-on cards with the old primary card BIN. In my case new add-on and reissued primary card have the same but new BIN.

Maybe. But in my case from last month only new addon card with same BIN as primary was issued to me and it works well. Last month I got addon for Prime and in 2018 got for Etihad card. Both work well 🙂

I got add-on card for 2 years old primary card recently, I don't think SBI keeps issuing cards with the same BIN for years.

I don't know what happened in your case. But I got with the same BIN.

Primary Prime card issued in 2019 and addon card issued 1 month back have same BIN.
