SBI OLA - Converted Visa to Rupay on renewal

Recently my SBI OLA card is up for renewal & SBI has sent me SMS to choose the card network for renewal card.
It has provided two options Visa & Rupay to select from. I have opted for Rupay & 2 days back the new card has been issued on Rupay platform.

This seems to be nice feature by SBI to offer network selection option before card renewal without any fuss.

SMS in given format "NSEL<last 4 digit of card><Selected Network>" to 5676791 within 10 days of renewal due SMS. (Only VISA & RUPAY network)

Same has been introduced by Yes bank as well recently where I got my RESERV card renewed in Rupay Select from existing Mastercard network.

For SBI network selection option via SMS & for YES Bank it is via online link shared on email/sms.

Any one aware if any UPI benefits on SBI Ola & Yes Reserv cards? 🙂

That’s a good to hear. I simply received the notification that your card has been renewed with new expiry date that’s it. Dint receive any mail or text with regards to choosing the payment network for OLA SBI.

Do let us know if it’s still eligible for 1% in terms of Ola cashback upon UPI usage as well.

My Ola SBI card is up for renewal in December 1st week, my new card dispatched yesterday. After your post, I have called Customer support, first he told me that there is no Ola SBI Rupay card and then they can't change Network for Co-branded card. I told him about RBI guildlines and also one customer already got this card in Rupay network. Then he tried to change Network from his end but getting failed. I asked him to send me Network change consent SMS, then told me that he can't send SMS.
How many days/weeks before the renewal date, you received the SMS ? Are you able to see the Rupay card in SBI card app/web ? @Rishabh

Sorry my bad it was not via a link but through SMS message SBI gave option to choose network. Due to renewals of both Yes Exclusive & SBI OLA happened in same month I mixed up a bit. I will correct my first post.

Yes bank had shared a link with a page to choose network while SBI sent me an SMS notifying about card due for renewal & mentioned steps to change network via SMS. SMS in given format "NSEL<last 4 digit of card><Selected Network>" to 5676791 within 10 days of this SMS. (Only VISA & RUPAY network)

Received message from SBI on 5th November & existing card expiring in Feb 2025. I can see the new Rupay card on SBI app with full card details except CVV.
Card has been dispatched already.

Bro, SBI also allow you to change card network anytime. No need to wait for renewal.

I spoke with 3 Customer support executives (1 Supervisor). They told me that there is No Offer on my account to change the Network for Ola SBI card and also since it is a Co-branded card, they can't take a request. They will only take request for SBI Core cards Network change.

I explained them about RBI circular, the Network change guidelines are same for Core cards and Co-branded cards but still they denied.

Surprisingly, one executive told me that Ola SBI, FBB SBI and one more card, total 3 Co-branded credit cards are going to be closed and they will send alternative card Simply Save or Simply Click.

Same here called couple of times. Was told not possible to take the request. I also need to confirm whether any change in network provider shall bear any impact in respective card’s LTF status.
