SC Digi Smart Card Rejected & then approved

As I already hold SC manhattan credit card I applied for DigiSmart card as an existing customer just by validating my Existing card with 1rs transaction. I thought it will be easily approved. But to my surprise my request was rejected next day. I applied for card again as a new customer & its approved with in a day.

What is the process they follow to approve the cards? I gave same Pan card for second time application.

Could be a case of system glitch? Or else I can't see any solid reason. I applied for Ultimate as existing holder, it went through as well

@Subhankar Did you have existing card limit over 4 lakh before applying for Standard Chartered Ultimate?
