SCB Digismart card is being stopped. Confirmed by the customer care.

Today when I called customer care to cancel my SC ultimate credit card, and at the end of the call they informed me that DIGI smart cand can be upgraded as they are going to stop it. Existing customers can use it until the expiry date.

I had placed the closure request via mail and today I called customer care for the status. They said, closure request can only be placed via phone banking and now I can see the request in mobile app. They said retention team will contact in two days and I'm waiting for that.

If they waive off the joining fee, I will continue for a year otherwise will close it

I once tried SCB Super Value Titanium from 3 PAN numbers in my family (2 self-employed, 1 corporate). All were rejected instantly. This was 2022, I think. Saw on PaisaBazaar that the card has probably been discontinued. Now it is the turn of Digismart, it seems.

Did the retention team offer you anything?

Nothing. I asked to waive off the joining fee quoting no useful vouchers but they said it is not possible from their end. Instead they suggested to call customer care once it is charged. Since it is not guaranteed, I didn't agree and proceeded with closure.

Generally the bank doesn't provide retention offer for joining fee. For annual fee, they definitely provide depending on the usage in the past.

Digismart card got renewed in last week of July & I was expecting bank to replace it with Smart variant but to my surprise it is the same Digismart card issued by the bank & got delivered today.

Not sure if Bank has decided to continue this card and drop plans to discontinue it, anyways am happy getting the same card post renewal as it rewards good on OLA, Yatra & Myntra shopping every month 🙂

My DigiSmart Card was not renewed on expiry and I had to call customer care to find out that, as per policy, my credit card is not being renewed and is only renewed for very few exceptional customers.

So who got it renewed are very lucky 🙂

But the main USP of the card - 20% on Myntra once a month has been discontinued form 1st March onwards. So the card is not attractive anymore except Ola benefits !!
