My cibil score is consistently 800 and i have got axis(3), SBI(3), Amex(2), RBL, BoB, Indusind bank, ICICI, IDFC, HSBC, Yesbank, Kotak bank. I am applying multiple times in last 1-2 years but is getting rejected. As per historical records, in 2007, there is default and full and final settlement done with confirmation from bank. Also there was unresolved balance or dues shown to the extent of 129000/- for which I had written and got it cleared from bank. Now my cibil records are all fine except these 2 issues. Anyone can help or suggest why it is declining by SCB. They keep mentioning my application could not be accepted due to bank internal policies. I am also credit card freek and keep applying new credit cards for the purpose of offers and discounts, so my enquiries is always high

High enquiries are reason for rejection in stanc
Try to keep enquires less than 3 for next 3 months are try again

I applied for Scb Smart card, an agent from Scb called me to get Tan number..

I never needed it in any application for any credit card...
So should I give him? And where can I get that tan number

Don't think that is the only reason.

I do think Stan C checks historical data, irrespective of age of the closed a/c during CC application & so does Federal Bank.

I had a credit card from CITI that was "settled" in 2009. I went abroad for my higher education & didn't bother checking that there was an amount of around 85,000 outstanding on the card for the last statement that was generated after I had left, (Yes, my mistake). My parents did pay it off but instead of paying the full dues, they settled it ! Though the current balance shows as "0" & I still have the NOC from CITI, the DPD reads "120" & account status : "settled". This is was back in 2009.

The account dropped off from Experian, & Equifax but I "guess" historical data does NOT drop off from CIBIL irrespective of age of accounts. Which is the weirdest thing about CIBIL !!!!

I to have several cards including Amex Gold charge & Plat Travel, Kotak(3), ICICI(3), BOB(2), SBI including Aurum (2), RBL, PNB & One Card but when applying for Stan C it's a straight decline, every time even with CIBIL of 787.

So I think Fedral, Stan C & Axis are exceptions who will NOT issue cards based on historical data even if they are like 15 years old.

I came know about this while trying to apply for Federal Scapia card as they specifically mentioned this as the reason why they did not approve me via email.

Yes SCB, Federal and Axis are wierd, infact i had successfully cleared all 3 HBLs in last 15 years taken from LICHFL with no history of delay or due payments but still SCB and Federal refuse to approve credit card owing to one "settled" history in SCB. I even attached the NOC email and settlement letter but no favorable response from them

You will NOT get a card from the same bank that you "settled" your Credit card with, unless you pay the Total amount that was due on the card during the time of the settlement & still then they might not issue you a card, I know HDFC does not unless you have a good TRV with them.

However, if you repay the total dues your "settled" status will drop off from CIBIL & the some of the banks who would not have issued you a card otherwise, now will.

Anyway not big benefit you get from SCB and Federal except few offers and that too paid card does not make any sense to me

Well most SCB cards never gave much value, ultimate being an exception. Most get a SCB card coz they just want a SCB card in their wallet or coz they want to upgrade to ultimate, eventually !
