Spend based fee waiver if bill paid beforehand

If there is a card, where spending of Rs 1,00,000 can result in Annual Fee waiver, and if I let's say, spend Rs 20,000, but pay that amount before the bill was generated, and then continue towards achieving that Rs 1,00,000 value, will there be fee reversal? Or, do I need to spend Rs 1,20,000 if I follow this above method

It's spend based, would be counted. Only, refunds might be excluded.
Doesn't matter if you pay whole amount even before bill generation.

negative balance on statement hence untill you don't spend targeted amount for fees reversal, fees will be charged , pay 80 k later.

I used to do this for dcb, pay amounts before generation date and still used to get monthly milestones.
Paying before bill generation is just a bill payment, it should not affect the spends based criteria.
