spent 4 lakh on Amex plat travel card in first 3 months of issuance. Any benefits of using it more

I got Amex plat travel in Sep 2024 and crossed 4 lakh by Nov.
I didnt see any benefits of using it any more for the year.

Can I close it or leave it like that for end of first year?

No... keep it in the drawer till next renewal and use other better cards you have.

Only time you can "consider" using this again this year is if Amex comes up with any spend based offer with more than 3-4% return

Close it and maybe get some other card. You can apply next year if you find it suitable.

Thanks for quick reply. I will stop using it as main card and close it if i didnt get any spend based offers soon.

On a separate note, In another thread, I read Amex gives 30% bonus points on marriott in year end. I will wait for that to redeem rewards and close it.

Next year on renewal, you can also call the AMEX customer care for fee waiver or bonus points on renewing the card. I got instant 50% off on the renewal fees.
