Currently srilanka considers transit visa for sailors only

There is a flight from hyd to ktm with a 20hr layover in columbo on booking page it is showing transit visa required

Is pnr different on the 2 flights?

Last year when I went, I had taken free transit visa online. It came instantly on email after filling form, which took 5-10 mins. But since my PNR was same, I didn't had to cross immigration point. In Colombo, Departure and Arrival happens in same area. So, none checked my transit visa.

Things may have changed though. So, do double check from someone who went recently.

I'm not sure not yet booked flight ticket , due to this transit confusion. Need to change flight in Colombo. Basically srilanka will be a free country to visit if I got transit visa 😁

5 years back when i visited with family i opted on arrival visa a bit cost is more but hassle free
I converted currency also with a good exchange rate with the help of those visa guys
