Standard chartered Bank cc quality degraded or it always like this?

Currently I'm looking to close my axis account and open a daily use account in a foreign bank preferably in SC or DBS. Last night I decided to open SC axcessplus 25k mab account. Surprisingly I found out that there is no online account opening option available only contact form is available. Upon filling I got a call today from SC. Instead of helping me open the 25k mab account they upsell the priority banking program that requires 30l trv. I politely declined since no sane person to accept this without knowing the service quality of the bank. They didn't allow me to open axcessplus account. I didn't expect this from a foreign bank. If the service is quality actually good I would've asked them to include me in the priority banking program. Is is the same case for dbs also?

Depends on branch employees.

Till 2022 or something, dbs 10k and sc 25k used to be zero balance and can be opened online. They implemented MAB for existing customers too.
 
SCB India, whether its account or credit cards, is just totally off the game. Doesn't have the seervice quality you would expect from a global entity, and that's across the spectrum. Even the mobile app and the tech team, there is nothing really worth it with SCB India.
 
I closed my SC account about two weeks back. Their customer service is the absolute worst I’ve come across, even worse than regional banks. If you write an email you will never hear back, not even auto generated acknowledgement. You have to call them for everything. A simple task like account statement I couldn’t download from their app. I had to raise a request first for statement and even that didn’t get processed until I called customer care twice to process it for me.

Their credit card services are also as bad when it comes to support but some cards are still decent if you can tolerate absolutely terrible customer service
