Staycation near Bangalore options

Hi,

I am planning for staycation for 1 Week. We 2 peoplel and are in Bangalore and looking places around it.

We were looking for Chikmagalur, but it doesn't have any of axis travel partner. We are looking for 3*+ properties.

Can someone help me in options that is available.

Tell them it's your B'day or anniversary or something ,they'll give you a free cake ,some cookies and some chocolates in room along with room decorations,
Go for breakfast early otherwise it gets crowded and service becomes lacking ,they even stop refilling buffet before closing time ,but if you complain they'll give you freshly made stuff on table or offer to send it to your room later (complimentary),
Spa is lacking ,
Ala carte food is good ,
Otherwise the whole property is quite nice ,and you can even walk around outside the property

Check out Kalyani Bar and Tavisha bar & kitchen, they're both really good for food and ambience, quite reasonably priced as well

I'm assuming you're self driving ,it's best if you do

Ok ,maybe you can take bike rentals from Chikmagalur town ,
Gateway property is little out of the way ,

No they don't ask for any proof ,just tell them it's your anniversary

There are few resorts around Gateway but they must be pricey by the look of it ,
In town there are plenty of reasonably priced places ,
The property in which Kalyani Bar is present ,Vismita County Resort is really beautiful with pool cottages ,but not sure about prices

Also, is it possible to have anyone who have Taj membership to book, so that I avail discount ?

Amex vouchers will work at Gateway property,
Everywhere else you'll have pay ,but you can get discounts and reward points depending on where you're booking

I can book it via either Smartbuy/TravelEdge. I hold MB and Infinia so I will get 3900(5x) Points for MB and 4333(10X) RP for Infinia per night. I'm planning to stay for 2 nights, does it make sense to book it either of above rather than getting 24K taj voucher from Amex using 18K and 24K gold collection.

if u will be using the amex points somewhere in near future then u can use revenue booking to top up partner points. IF not you the points in amex and close it. The whole purpose of points game is it to reduce ur revenue expense for booking flight n hotels.

5 nights using Amex > Marriott points can save you one nights’ points.
If you have elite membership, then JW lounge is a must go.
One of the best in the country.

Now if that’s out of reach and considered too close to Blore, then you can consider The Fern, Sakleshpura.
I’ve heard very good things about this property, especially the food I’m told is bang on.

Maybe costs a bit for 5 days.
If you avoid weekends you may come out on top.

Of course, Marriott in Coorg and Taj Madikeri too may be worthwhile, for Amex points or Taj Vouchers.

Coorg Marriott is good if you are looking for stay using MB / MR points. They are giving free breakfast too on request for points booking I heard

Club marriott membership that comes with Infinia is not useful for JW prestige Golfshire.
