Suggest an HDFC credit card

Hello everyone, below is a list of the credit cards that I'm holding currently
1. Axis Magnus
2. Axis Ace
3. SBI Cashback
4. SBI Simplysave
5. Amazon Pay ICICI
I want to apply for an HDFC credit card but I'm conflicted between regalia and millennia (not sure about Diners Club or other cards from HDFC, suggestions are welcomed). I'm planning to apply through C2C with a card that has 4.6L credit limit. The major use would be for the offers, discounts and cashback offers that appear during promotional offers, online sales and discounts. There might be some features or something that I might be missing out on or some factors that I'm unable to identify so please suggest something that'd fit in well with my existing cards that'd increase my total returns through the addition of the HDFC credit card. Thanks.

As you already have SBI Cashback, Millennia wouldn't make much sense as Cashback card covers all the 5% CB sites that Millennia covers and a lot more. And Millennia also gives 1% CB on wallet loading and 1k voucher on 1L quarterly spend
If you want to buy vouchers from Smartbuy, Regalia gives better reward rate on that but overall reward rate of Regalia isn't that good. You can checkout Regalia Gold if it suits you. Launched within last 2 years

Millenia is better than regalia. If you are going for international travel, then you may go for regalia.

Regalia has only 3 major benefits
1. Priority pass lounge access
2. 2% forex markup fees in place of 3.5% compared to other cards
3. Reward points(4 for 150) ratio is probably better than millenia.

But millenia offers good cashbacks which makes it more attractive.

Since, you already have axis ace and sbi cashback, millenia won't be worth. If desperate for hdfc you can think of Diners Club Platina or DCB or infinia. But they are premium cards which carry a fee.

I think you already have a very good portfolio, so hdfc cards won't benefit unless you are looking for some exclusive offers.

Thanks!!

Why exactly are you planning for a Milennia if you have sbi cashback?

Check if your needs can be fulfilled by a Milennia debit card as well. If yes, you can get a 10k account and have a regalia as well via c2c

The 1% on wallet loads also sound like a point for Millennia (basically to add to Paytm wallet for the Fastag). The major purpose of the HDFC card was to get something that I've been missing out on and to add an HDFC credit card to my collection to use it at time time of discounts and offers, at a point I even considered the HDFC money-back+ card for that purpose but then I shifted to considering the other ones because the other two cards are way more beneficial. Any other cards i could consider? I checked regalia gold and it isn't much different from regalia but the bank employee is offering me regalia gold.

As you have a Magnus, I assume you do not plan to spend much on your new HDFC card.
My recommendation would be to get one of the Tata Neu cards (Rupay variant) for UPI transactions.
After that, DCB would be a great option if you can get it LTF (Alumni offer). Else, get a Regalia (easily available LTF, preferably in Rupay variant).
If you are comfortable with 10k annual fees, get an Infinia (which may be difficult to get). It is still an excellent card and probably the third-best after Magnus and Reserve, in India.

Two cards I will suggest.
1 tata neu infinite card. It's a great card. Rare card which give 5percent on utilitt payments.
2 hdfc infinia is best card from hdfc..
1. I use the Axis Ace credit card for utility payments as it gives 5% cashback on all utility bill expenses.
Although I can take the Tata Neu infinity card as a rupay variant and use it for UPI payments but I don't know whether it'll be useful at the time of online offers and discounts (like when there's an offer saying "use HDFC credit card for additional 15% off) since it's rupay network and not Visa/Mastercard. Please share information if you have any regarding the same.

2. I don't think they'll let me apply infinia on card to card basis that too with a card of 4.6L limit, and my ITR is just 7.5 lacs so applying infinia would be hard. I have an HDFC account but they want a high NRV which I don't want to maintain.

Yes I mostly use Magnus and the HDFC card would only be used at the time of online offers and discounts (additional 10% off on HDFC cards etc.) and maybe for wallet loads.
I'm not sure about DCB because at times Diners Club network isn't accepted at a lot of places and even at certain online merchants don't accept it. Also it's an expensive card since I'm not an alumni from the list of their partner colleges/institutions.
Infinia is expensive and hard to get and I don't want to spend that much on a card that I won't be using that often.
Tata Neu (rupay), regalia (rupay/visa) and millennia (visa) are the 3 options I've watered down to.

I just want to make sure whether the cards on the Rupay network would function at the time of online offers and discounts (the additional 10/15/whatever% off using HDFC credit cards)

Also, if I go for Regalia rupay, would it come with the benefits of international usage and priority pass in the Visa network? My assumption is it won't be that widely accepted internationally, although it'll be an addition as a rupay variant for UPI payments.

You can also wait a bit for the launch of HDFC Swiggy CC which seems an upgraded version of HDFC Millennia

The major purpose I need it for is to get the online offers and discounts (additional 10-15% off using HDFC credit Cards) and maybe as a rupay variant card. I majorly use the Axis magnus for international travel so I even considered the rupay variant of Regalia card but then even the Tata Neu infinity rupay sounds like a good deal. Also, Regalia card in rupay network won't be accepted that widely on international travel. Please suggest.

Millennia give 1% cashback on wallet loads which SBI Cashback doesn't so I considered that. Also, my major use will be to get the online offers and discounts (like 10-15% additional off on HDFC credit cards) and MAYBE to add to the UPI so rupay variant is also an option I'm considering, say the Tata Neu infinity or Relagia rupay since I don't have a rupay card as of now. I have HDFC preferred account so I have the platinum easyshop preferred debit card which I use quite often.

Just a 10% cashback on swiggy and 5% on other online expenses.. I have SBI Cashback so the only reason I was considering millennia was for 1% cashback on wallet loads that SBI Cashback doesn't offer.

If you are looking for a card for Wallet Load, why don't you check out SC Smart (2% cashback), or BoB Eterna (3.75% upto 43k per month)
TBH, for most wallets, 1% would not even cover the loading charges

Wallet loads - Amazon card gives that too. So you're sorted there IMHO
Regalia should be your bet. And you may get millenia Debit card. Millenia will give 1%(or 2.5% don't remember the exact one as I don't use it) cashback upto 400 rupees on your credit card bill payments as well. (Platinum card gives 1% upto 750)

I'll look into SC smart but wallet loads is an additional benefit, I'm looking for HDFC credit card for the online offers and discounts factor. Which HDFC card would be best? Millennia and Regalia have been the top picks, wanted to know if regalia rupay (would be able to link it with UPI) would do the job but wanted to know if the rupay network card would avail the online offers and discounts when used for that. If not then I'm willing to take regalia Visa as it'll also serve as a fallback card to the Axis magnus for international travel.

I already have platinum debit card and I make credit card bill payments through that. Regalia sounds like a good choice, although I even considered Tata Neu infinity card. Just wanted to make sure if the rupay network card would be valid at the time of usage for online discounts and offers. I've heard from a friend that rupay network tends to fail to avail those HDFC card offers and discounts.

Tata Neu infinity seems like a more rewarding card in most of the scenarios and discussions but I'm trying to figure out is the Regalia RUPAY any good? Especially if we include international travel, priority pass, the 2% forex into the equation.
