Hi All,
I've been dealing with HDFC Bank as my primary Banker for last 12 years and increasingly getting frustrated with their deterioting service level (including banking as well as credit card department). On top of that, I've tried all the available ways to upgrade my existing Regalia / Regalia Gold card to either DCB or Infinia but no luck on that.
So would like to close all relationships and move away from them (for Banking/PPF/SSY planning to move to ICICI / SBI).
I've been exploring alternate cards for a while now, but one thing I'm consistently seeing is majority of them are not giving rewards for Education, Insurance & Jewellery spends.

I would like your valuable inputs for choosing a suitable credit card. Below is my approx. annual expenses and the cards I hold.

Expenses:
Fuel - 1.8L (includes business spend for spouse, using Amex Gold)
Education - 3L (using RG currently, college portal doesn't accept Diners/Amex. Also have to pay in single payment)
Insurance - 3.5L (for whole extended family & vehicles. Using RG currently)
Offline shopping - 1L (using Amex Gold + RG)
Utility - 2.5L (includes electricity, mobile recharge, broadband)
Jewellery - 5L (using Amex Gold + RG)
DineOut / Medical / Groceries / Provisions - Most of them don't have POS. So via UPI

Existing Cards:
Amex Gold
Regalia Gold (RG) - 3L limit
ICICI Sapphiro - 4.3L limit (LTF. only using for instant offers)
HSBC Platinum - 4.6L limit (LTF. only using for instant offers)

Net Salary: 1.5L per month (Employer is a start-up. No corporate tie-up's available)

Thanks All!

Airtel for utilities and mobile recharge, Swiggy and Zomato.
Atlas for all offline spends, online/offline flights and hotels
SBI cashback for all online spends
AU Lit with 4 subscriptions for groceries or apparel
Amex Gold for buying Amazon pay 6 x 1000 every month, redeem 24000 points for 8000 Amazon pay.

Your 18 lacs income qualifies for all these cards.
You don't need any other cards if you have these

With your current relationship with Amex pick Amex Plat travel card and use it for spends across categories for 4L spends per annum. Rest of online spends use SBI Cashback card upto 1L spends per month.

- Amex Plat Travel Card (4L spends per annum)
- SBI CB Card for 1L online Spends per month
- Axis Atlas if you can get (For other spends Offline)

As Sapphiro is LTF, even with current devaluation you can hold as there is no harm in doing so.

Sorry, correct me if I'm not wrong. I think SBI Cashback / Atlas / AU cards don't give cashback on Education / Jewellery & Insurance transactions right? Since these cover majority of expenses, I thought of getting a card which atleast gives some rewards instead of outright exclusion.

An excellent write-up. I considered Atlas during the analysis, but to say the truth little afraid of dealing with Axis because those guys are worse than HDFC 😨 Will look into it again now and apply. Thank you!
Excatly, and also moving to ICICI or SBI from HDFC for credit card benefits would be like choosing jumping in front of train over hanging self..
Sadly in India, there are no great, reliable, excellent-in-all-aspects kind of a bank for all types of services.

I gave an option of Amex Plat Travel for those spends if the merchant accepts.

I am sailing on the same boat mate
Going to be a little long read

Request everyone to read and respond with their perspective Please.
Was Holding Paytm ,Swiggy, Tata Neu Infinity and Regalia Gold from them

Every card is a paid card (Hard Luck for me always)

Group Preferred Banking relationship for the family myself being the primary holder

With only a shared limit of 4.5L limit on credit cards

I have managed to using both Neu and Gold cards for more than 6L each last yearly cycle

And requested HdFC guys in every possible way. Only response is rejection and at the end a clear attitude response of “we are not going to respond anymore to your requests”

So, closed Paytm for now

Thinking To close Swiggy as well but…..

Recent devaluation of Amazon vouchers from Smartbuy with extra charges is holding me to think of this decision.

5% cashback direct credit to card for amazon usage is not a bad deal(Hold amazon ICICI though)

What so you all suggest me in terms of regalia gold

HDFX does not care

HDFC is one of the worst bank for existing customers. I have Corporate salary account for more then 20 years. Imperia relationship, family banking (6 accounts) for long long time.
Same as everyone else RM is junk, even corporate RM is of no use.
Though i have DCB LTF but even for that BM/RM did not helped a bit, I got because of some offer was going on that time so I added my electricity bill in autopay and got DCB LTF.
Finally decided to close 3 accounts and moving salary account to either icici or sbi.

or did I misunderstood something?
Yes, you are correct, I already had escalated previously with him for my tata neu infinity upgrade to millenia and he did that, credit card guys were calling me alot that time for not escalating things that much, so again escalated for upgrade.
