Hey everyone,

I’m planning to book Air India tickets worth ₹1,20,000 for a Delhi-Bangkok-Delhi trip and want to maximize my credit card rewards. I have the following cards:
  • AMEX Platinum Charge (10X rewards, 30,000 Marriott points, ₹15,000 value)
  • HDFC Infinia (5X rewards, 15,000 Infinia points, ₹15,000 value)
  • Axis Atlas (6,000 miles → 12,000 Accor points, ₹21,600 value)

Reward Comparison:

CardPoints/Miles EarnedFinal Value (₹)Reward Rate (%)
AMEX Platinum30,000 Marriott Points₹15,00012.5%
HDFC Infinia15,000 Infinia Points₹15,00012.5%
Axis Atlas6,000 Miles → 12,000 Accor Points₹21,60018%

Key Questions:

  1. Would you still go with Axis Atlas, or am I missing any better option?
  2. Any better transfer/conversion strategy for AMEX or Axis miles?
  3. Should I consider any other card for this transaction?
Looking forward to your expert suggestions! Thanks in advance! 😊

Hey everyone,

HDFC Infinia15,000 Infinia Points₹15,00012.5%
Axis Atlas6,000 Miles → 12,000 Accor Points₹21,60018%

Key Questions:

  1. Would you still go with Axis Atlas, or am I missing any better option?

Do you look for only number or experience? Because certainly you're looking here numbers especially in "reward rate" column, but what about "Point/Miles Earned" column which says, One said redeem me on 'Marriott' and other says redeem me on 'Accor'.

So, if you're ok with 'Accor' sadly, only Axis is an option. But if you went with numbers, there are possibilities to confuse that..

1. did u check that price in other places, whats the actual value ur' getting for your points when compared to that price?

  1. Any better transfer/conversion strategy for AMEX or Axis miles?

those are the best options which u already mentioned.

  1. Should I consider any other card for this transaction?

yes, platinum charge that is 75k annual fee card with you. can't it help 1.2L travel?

I guess bashing and judging people is the best thing these days....

Rather than asking illogical questions, you should ignore this post or may be leave this community since you are so self sufficient.

If you didn't understand the simple question, just ignore it.

Hey man I think you misread @helloworld 's tone a bit. He wasn't judging or bashing you. It's just commentary mixed with answers (atleast as I read it)

Could you point me in my post where u got offended! will definitely correct it since its not at all my intention to bash or judge you in that post.

the way I understood ur question:

U have 3 cards and u want to book 1.2L flight tickets and u provided ur calculations with possible best redemption in that card through a table, and asking us three questions.

based on that my response in post #2 mentiones:
  1. Would you still go with Axis Atlas, or am I missing any better option?
The way I see it, the reason u went with Atlas for 5x travel edge and redemption of accor at 1.8p. Since u asked another question in that same question "am I missing any better option",

for that my response, since u considered only redemption value (Ex. here accor at 1.8p and came with 12.5%), so instead of looking this number 12.5% / 18% look for the same table which also mentioned where you redeemed those points, i.e., Points/Miles Earned which mentioned

- for atlas u redeemed through "accor"
- for infinia, assuming "any hotel"
- for amex u redeemed through "mariott"

ur not comparing apple to apple here, so asked u instead of looking for final number, check the experience (I didn't mentioned it but I thought u'll get it).

ex:
for some: marriott experience may not match with accor experience, so for them 0.50p marriott value = 1.8rs. accor value or even less.

In either case, if you still went with that number calculate do above mentioned excercise to get actual value like here: https://www.technofino.in/community...y-vs-amex-travel-vs-mmt-etc.36057/post-893120

2/3 are self-explainary and I hope u understood and value of 'platinum charge', yet it is way better in this scenario since u already have that card I hope you know it.

---------------------------------------------

this is my intention in that post, now could you point me where u got bashed or judged by me in #2 or this post, again that is not at all my intention, will improve my english correction to adjust it.

Apologies if you still got bashed or judged, again not at all my intention here.
