SWIPE vs EMV Chip (BE CAREFUL)

Recently a store try to do a swipe which was very unusual as never seen any merchant do swipe.

Regardless, this a P.S.A to help others to avoid and REJECT ANY SWIPE TRANSACTION & ALWAYS ASK TO BRING MACHINE & NEVER HANDOVER CARD

SWIPE : the magnetic stripe transfers card’s details to the card reader = static data

vs

EMV chip, on the other hand, dynamically generates a temporary token that becomes invalid after it’s used.

BTW, can experts advice how to safely destroy the magnetic stripe ?

Why do banks still provide magnetic strips on cards?

Why do banks still provide magnetic strips on cards?

incase a merchant has not upgraded & uses very old magnetic stripe machine & customer has no other option & wants to pay the merchant; i guess

thats the logic behind it but nobody uses stripe since decades
