Tax demand of INR 5L

I had a tax demand of INR 5L for not paying taxes on derivatives trading. I paid it 2 months back (when I received the demand), but I have not received any acknowledgement from the tax department. Is there something that I need to do, or will this take time?

You don't get any acknowledgement for payment of demand. But if demand arises while processing of return then you might get new intimation order after you paid the demand.

To check outstanding demand.

Go to Pending Actions > Respond to Outstanding Demand.

If demand is still showing then submit response to demand and select option Demand is correct and tax paid. Enter Challan details and also attach challan. Submit response.
