I earlier had Edition Card with RBL which was later converted to Shoprite. This card is pretty much useless and I have not been using it for long. It is LTF though. Couple of months back, RBL reduced my credit limit from more than 2 Lakhs to about Rs 28K. Now I am getting the above email. As per the RBI guidelines, your RBL Bank Credit Card will be suspended on 10-Dec-24 due to non-usage for more than a year. Your Card has a Credit limit of Rs. 28000.0 and you are missing out on various benefits on your card. Make a valid purchase across any merchants before 10-Dec-24 to avoid blocking of your Card."
It was anyway in my todo list to close this card, but I havent gotten around to it. Now, should I just let it play out and let RBL suspend the card or should I proactively call them to close it? Is there any difference between the two?
Posting it here, since it is a generic question, not specific to RBL.
