Upgrade to StandC Smart CC

Hi All,

I was offered a paid upgrade to Smart CC from Rewards credit card. It is a paid version, if I ignore this will I get a LTF upgrade.

I have redeemed 1000 last week only. May be the new rule comes into effect from May 24.

New rules from May 1, 2024. After this date redemptions possible with 2500 / 3500 / 4500 points etc

Does these rewards points has validity?
Can we redeem this via Amazon vouchers ?

Forget Amazon, just think Gucchi, Prada type Luxe. Do you think people who buy these even care reward points 😛

My earstwile LTF rewards card was converted to DigiSmart 2 years back with montly fee of 50/- + GST, The only benefit I could use was limited 20% discount on Myntra, all other promised benefits on DigiSmart or were extremely short lived. As of today customer care agreed to convert to LTF wich i will keep for any future upgrade to useful card.

I applied Ultimate card in Early 2023 with 6K Annual Joining Fee, thinking good reward rate at that time. Moreover I was expecting Visa Infinite as appeared on their website. But I received MasterCard/World and the cherry on top was immediate reduction in reward rate. Still I Stopped using HDFC Regalia thinking Ultimate rewards will be slightly better rewarding. After 1 year of rigorous use and lots of foreign transaction during travel I only got some junk coupons which I couldn't use till now. Later decided to close the card but the retention team offered waive off on annual fee and said that they are working towards improving rewards but havent seen any improvement yet. Overall a bad experience and I feel I missed out opportunity to enhance HDFC limit as well as card type by getting into this.

They are saying from two years on rewards portal. In reality, it's becoming worse

Avoid. They will not give cashback rewards on time. You have follow up and argue.

Standard chartered is the worst bank in terms of service and credibility. Stay away from them
