Hello TFians !!!

Surprise post🙂

After holding Rupay Signet card from almost 2 years and number of requests & complaints to get Card Limit Enhancement or Upgrade which were never fulfilled, last week out of frustration I just got my Signet card closed.
I used to laugh when I got my Signet card with limit not enough to buy a good smartphone, don't know what Federal was doing when assigning such low limit of 30k in spite of having good CIBIL & other bank cards with limit way much higher than of Signet.

I was aware & told by Fed bank executive about the cooling period of 90 days to wait to apply again for new card; but after recent experience of getting moved from OneCard(Federal) to Imperio within a week within my Family (refer to post below) I randomly tried applying for new credit card from Federal with expectation of getting it rejected due to cooling period.

But application went through after asking all the basic details with no option to select card variant during the process except only thing I selected was platform as Mastercard.
Application got successfully submitted and reference number generated.

Today got surprised to receive email about Celesta card approval with limit more than 13x limit of earlier Signet card 🙂
No verification call, VKYC, etc.; only 6 month bank account statement was required to be uploaded.

Card Journey:-
- 7th Jan: Placed request for closure of existing Signet card
- 9th Jan: Got call to confirm closure request; card got closed immediately after confirmation
- 10th Jan: Applied for new Credit card (through Apply Now link) & got reference number with 7 days processing time message
- 13th Jan: Received card approval email with Celesta MC variant & credit limit details

Unpredictable Federal !!!

So anyone unable to get their card upgraded or limit enhancement from long, can give a try closing existing card and apply for new.
But again it may come with risk of Federal imposing cooling period for you to wait for 90 days & reject the card application depending how bad your luck is 🙂

Also to confirm I do not have Bank account or any other existing relationship with Federal bank.

I have signet about 7 months of age with one of the lowest cc limit in my portfolio.
Today tried applying through Celesta landing page and applyication went through and reference number has been generated.

What are the chances ?
@SplendorSuperman can you please share the timeline of when you applied and when did you receive acceptance or rejection?
Also did you get an option to choose the credit card?
Can you also share your cibil score and annual income that you entered?
