Since its launch on February 28th, 2024, cross-border payment acceptance with UPI has experienced phenomenal growth, processing over Rs. 250 million in transaction volume and exceeding 100 thousand transactions across all 77 districts.

I doubt, very soon it will be going to increase in decreasing rate or will just decrease, because almost all merchants are not aware about the MDR, i.e, 1.95%, as it doesn't apply instantaneously.

If not, acceptance rate will surely decrease among small merchants.
 
What is process on upi payment in Nepal for an Indian?
Open Phonepe app >> go to UPI setting and activate UPI International.

Visit Nepal, scan any Nepal QR codes and scan & pay.

@Abhishek012 Thanks for sharing that post but it seems it's for SENDING money to nepal rather than receiving money in india from nepal. Can they send back via same channel ? Not clear at this point

By the way, last time i heard Nepal's Central bank is currently not allowed Nepal to India send money via UPI (if im not wrong), this feature is coming soon.

Yeah I think its not fully implemented from their side haha. Still its good that we can directly pay them from our side atleast, huge step forward
