Vistara CV points query

Hi , recently observed while trying to redeem vistara points for Bombay Delhi round , point requirement has moved from 5000 points to roughly 18000 even for dates in the month of July . Any idea when has this change ?

Can you check for other sectors as well along with future dates? Like may be Chennai-Delhi/Bangalore-Delhi/Bombay-Banglore?

Also, was the round trip previously 5k only between Bombay-Delhi or was it 5k for single way?

18k is for Business Class one way or 17k in Premium Economy for return. Could be a possibility that there is no availability in eco for that day.

I checked few , 10k itself is double the previous requirement

5K was normal onw way previously too

You're being shown a round trip of premium economy class fare which is 17k. The points get shown as per the least category's award availability. Even if you try to book business class, and economy is available, the first calendar page will show economy redemption rate only

So that is basically a round-trip fair. And apart from that it could be just because there is only premium economy which is available.

AS confirmed with Vistara customer care this is the ratio of availability(Generally) of award seats per flight :


Business Class: 2


Premium Economy 9


Economy: 8

Can one person book, say all 8 seats using points, if they are available?

Or there is capping on how many seats one can maximum book per flight?

Yes, as long as the reward seats are available and the points are there in your club Vistara account, why not!!

But u know these FFP rules are so weird that they might do some restrictions.
Have you or your friend/relative able to book more award seats (4+) using points for same flight?

Because there's a maximum of nominees you can have. And they can't be changed for a year if I'm not mistaken

Bro, you can simply call Vistara. They have the best customer service. Better Than any financial institution( expect Amex ) I can vouch. They will solve your queries with utmost patience so call them. You can look for there number online.

You can only add 8 nominees and they cannot be changed for 1 year.
Past that you can lit a candle and pray to the customer service to let you fly with your mom but if she isn't a nominee and you already have 8 and ineligible to remove one, she won't be flying anywhere. This is probably in place to avoid bartering, buying/selling awards; and very likely grandfathered from the original Singapore Airline policies since it was pretty much set up by them.

I assumed his question was whether 8 people can fly or not. They can on reward tickets if those are available.

If he asking whether he can keep changing those nominees, No. There is a certain rule and for that specified period one can't change the nominees and there is no way one can do that in Vistara.


As for booking a ticket for another person without any limit/ nominee issue, one can try United. They don't have any restrictions on the number of people one could add to their Mileage account.


Singapore Airlines only allow 5 Nominees. Vistara Allows 8.
