What is the craziest thing you've said or done w.r.t. money?
Assumption: You did not know what you were talking about at the time you said/did it

I'll start:
When I was young I used to tell my sister and cousins that when I grew up I would go to the bank, convert all my money into 1 rupee coins, put it in sacks and bring it home so that I could lie on it à la Scrooge McDuck. Too much of Duck Tales I guess 🙂

well, there was a great manufactured spend opportunity in the US more than a decade ago where you could buy US mint coins using credit cards for little to no fee and you would then go deposit the coins back in the bank - people made millions of points using this. The banks hated it because their employees had to drop everything else and count these coins for hours at a stretch!

Maybe, someday, there'll be something like that in India. Lots of CC points and tonnes of coins 🙂

Indian banks are too clever to allow this type of jugaad - if you can successfully launch a product in India and eliminate most loopholes, you can pretty much use the same framework in 99% of the world 😀
