What is the minimum AMEX points you prefer to keep before redeeming

I have collected close to 45K points on my AMEX MRCC.
Redeemed 24K earlier for a tanishq voucher, however after reading about MB transfer, airmiles and stuff I feel that the 24K gold collection redemption is not worth (until you take Taj Vouchers and utilize them wisely).

I still hold ~45K points, with your experience how much more points should I target before redeeming them for a good 3-4 days of holiday (on hotels only) (In India).
I have not made any plans for any trips in coming months and I have no fixed destination, may select destination as per the offer

Wait for Oct when Amex will roll out MB point transfer offer, like 25% or 30% extra.

A decent hotel should cost around 25k-30k points per night
So approx 110k points
If you are looking at luxury stays it might go higher

Marriott has no fixed value for points, it keeps varying with destination and dates, so better to book in advance and find the best rate for your points.
