What is the time-line to upgrade newly approved credit card into other variant credit card?

Hey one month ago I got HDFC Millennia credit card, now I want to upgrade this into Regalia credit card.
So generally how much time is taken by HDFC bank to offer an upgrade from Millennia to Regalia and what are the main factors that matter most.

For Regalia you need to have CL between 2-3L on your previous card. For any card upgrade, first the card usage get checked, then the other relationship you're having with HDFC, that'd be checked as well. Typically for new card to upgrade you need to wait at least 6 months.

Millenia is better than regalia in reward rates. Only benefit is lounge and priority Pass.
Certainly not. Regalia is for higher spenders. Regalia can value out way more than Millennia if milestones are considered. For low spends Millennia is better. The way you go up in the ladder, the lucrative the card becomes and it only remains lucrative until you keep spending higher and higher than previous card. With higher variant card bank expects you to spend more. Thus even a person who has spending only between 5-6L in a year, it'd be hard to value out Infinia which being one of the top tier card in India.

If someone can spend 5L in a year, he would get DCB instead. For less than that, Millenia gives more value.
You need to convert regalia reward points to actual value, as flights have discounts from 15-20% and you need to pay 30% from card while redeeming.
5x reward points from regalia is much less than 5% cashback from Millenia for instant vouchers, when u consider those flight redemption factors.

There’s nothing like someone will “get DCB”. Eligibility matters. Flight/hotel value is really good. You missed milestone value, lower forex markup added with Global value.
You can’t just simply compare a cashback card with RP card.
The hard point value looks small but when thinking about bigger perspective with keeping the spending in mind, Regalia will give lot more value than Millennia.
Then comes the capping of cashback, lower capping on smartbuy on Millennia.

See Regalia’s overall value will be lot better in broader perspective but we often see the smaller one and undervalue a card.

Same goes for card like SBI Aurum. 1% hard return but calculate milestones, way higher, like upto 4.7%. These cards are designed like this only
