Try not to use CCs in general for atm withdrawals. You will be charged hefty fees and interest. Try getting a zero forex debit card. I think Fi Money, Jupiter and Niyo offer zero mab accounts with zero forex dcs.

Try credit cards with zero atm withdrawal fees. But the bank of that atm will charge you a fixed amount for using international card. Which is usually not much. That way you get a 30 to 45 days interest-free timeframe to pay your credid card bill.

I use idfc wow and icici emeralde for cash withdrawals outside india. I found out, its better %return than buying forex cash from local indian money changer / banks.

Use debit cards for ATM withdrawal.
All credit cards charge interests from the day you withdraw money i.e. there is no Interest Free period for ATM cash withdrawal and interest on Credit Card is 36%-45% APY !! So definitely not recommended.
Note-: IDFC Wow is a rare exception that doesn't charge interest on Cash Withdrawals.

Some good options for debit cards are
IndusInd Exclusive Debit Card - No FCY and ATM fees
Fi Debit Card - 0% FC markeup
Niyo Debit Card - 0% FC markup

Forex prepaid cards lock your money, hence I prefer to keep money in Savings account and withdraw money from debit card.
In Europe, also note that most ATMs will charge a fee over and your bank, so try to find an ATM with minimum/no fee
Also, all ATMs will give a DCC ( Dynamic Currency Conversion) option where they will charge your account directly in INR. Do not use that option, that has a very high markup and a lot of banks even add a 1% surcharge if you use DCC. Have the ATM charge you directly in your withdrawal currency and that will result in almost the same rate you see on Google being charged to your account.
