When and how SBI card updates CIBIL - Used 90+% limit, 5th Bill date. Paid 50% of outstanding.

My mother has a SBI CC (her only CC), she used it for paying Tution fee - which was ~95% of limit (her total limit, as she has only this card). I got to know now and paid 50% of it to the card and it got reflected in app.

Any idea when SBI updates CIBIL? Does it take into account the whole usage or the bill generation amount? The bill generates on 5th. I paid 50% yesterday. Don't want to F up her CIBIL. Please advise

Don't tense. As long as you pay the dues on time, the impact on the score will be just for a couple of months and not by much.

Edit: Just checked my cibil history for SBI cards, they've been reporting only the billed amount not intramonth.

Why are you so paranoid about this?
Relax man.
All my shibill reports have 26th or 27th as reporting date for sbi cards. They only report bill generated amount not USED LIMIT.
Dont know about recent changes adaptation by banks about rbi circular for bi monthly reporting mandate

CIBIL reflects billed amount.

Since you have cleared some outstanding, so the utilization % will be less but Highest Used/maximum utilization is separate column and it is posted even though your bill is nill.

If utilization % has increased vis a vis preceding month, CIBIL will rappel down.
For example, you spent 1% in Jan, and 50% in feb. If in March, your utilization decrease, CIBIL will go up.

It is advised not to throttle sbi card each month. Sbi backend system is notorious for slashing limit should you play with it mindlessly.

Incorrect.
Each bank also updates "current outstanding balance".
Infact, banks also report the highest balance that you have used in any statement cycle, in your entire history of that card.

The reported outstanding balance is also used to compute your credit utilisation ratio: (outstanding balance on all CCs / total overall credit limit ) x 100 = credit utilisation%
