Which card shall I close? Axis infinite reserv or Vistara, confused please suggest

Hello Friends,

I hold Axis Premium credit cards
Magnus Burgundy
Infinite Reserv
Vistara Infinite

As Axis has the limit of 3 cards per customer I want to get Atlas as Group A limit in Burgundy exhausted, wanted to use Atlas for being able to get them. However I got to choose to close one. Infinite was renewed with waiver of renewal fee based on last year spends. This year I will not anyway meet spend criteria for waiver as I'm only leveraging Magnus for a accelerated points. Vistara was renewed in October recently already paid renewal fee and got flight voucher and gold renewal.

There are memberships like Accorplus, Marriot bomvoy gold and other gained from reserve infinite and can still use it for golf till May 2025.

If I close any of these cards will I loose those elite status memberships or do they remain active till next renewal date?

Which card do you prefer closing and why?

Don't close any cards. Group A limit will be reset on 1st Jan, it is just one month away.

You can choose to close Axis Reserve in May 2025 and then take Altas (I mean evaluate the situation at that time). Atlas also can give max 60k Accor points in one year

Idea is to get Atlas now and get that limit in this year be used.

That's a good idea !
you will get 30000 miles limit for group A both this year and next year.
You can switch Vistara infinite to Atlas right now and keep Reserve till July 2025.

Don't pay 59000 renewal fee for Reserve in July 2025.
Because Reserve is not worth the 59000 renewal fee

try asking axis team for reserve points to be moved to Magnus burgundy, if they move it call customer support and ask for reserve cc for an upgrade to axis atlas

reason being, if you close the reserve whatever edge points are there will just collapse off because there are no other edge reward cards (burgundy edge rewards are different than edge rewards because of conversion ratio. hence. before upgrading or closing its best to move the points by placing a manual request via email to axis and once done close it.
 
I have 3 Axis cards.. Magnus (not Burgundy).. Atlas and Vistara Infinite..

As Star Gold has now been confirmed till March 2026, I decided to close Vistara Infinite card, as it makes little sense to pay 12K for Biz class tkt. For buying tickets, Atlas and Magnus gives much better value then VI.

They offered me a retention bonus of 3000 CV/FR, which definitely is not worth to justify 12K fees.

How to switch Vistara Infinite to Atlas? Need to contact customer care number?

Did you cancel the card? is the Gold status still remaining? I called customer care they are unable to switch to Atlas and more over saying that if I cancel this card will immediately cancel the gold membership.

Generally memberships are valid till card is active. You can think of redeeming the reserve points and then contact customer care for closing and they will redirect you to retention team, with retention team you can talk to get atlas in place of reserve. Your status in accor in 2025 will be decided by the status on 31st december. But all other memberships with reserve will be gone

This idea is useful if you are having heavy expenses in December itself and that too before say 20th December. Say around 600k on hotels and traveledge for 5x or other expenses accordingly for taking full benefit. Then only you will be able to convert miles to Accor. You will have to take fast decision. Atlas billing date is 20th afaik

How about Vistara Air India Gold Benefit ? I already paid 10k for this two months ago might miss that if they revoke gold membership on cancellation

Yes.. cancelled... Not sure @ the Star Gold status. Hopefully it will continue to Mar 26. I m fine even if they cancel the same. Don't want to pay 11.8K for a card that I don't use .. so basically paying for only the status.. Atlas gives more benefit with half the price..
