One major issue with AU
You can’t apply add on card unless the add on applicant already has AU savings account
And they don’t provide savings account facility to all the pin codes where they provide credit card services

So I’m stuck here, even though I want to open savings account for my spouse, my pin code doesn’t feature in their serviceable pin code list for savings account… however it’s it in the credit card serviceable pin code list

You definitely need a visa / mc.

Agreed, I have faced some (although rare) acceptability issues with Diners and Amex.

I do have an Amazon pay icici card , I suppose that would work, but I just tried Amex today offline and got rejected again, that’s like 5 rejections in a row and this guy was candid that Amex charges more.
