Why my hdfc credit card number wrong in cibil ? I have one month new card in cibil.

I have a new hdfc money back + credit card. I have a score of 772 but in credit card reports my card no. instead of xx96 reported as xx95 ( xx9 is same , only last digit changed) . Should I notify this to bank as an error ?

Please know that HDFC does not report the card number as the account number in your credit reports. There is a separate account number associated with each card and the same is passed on to credit bureaus for reporting.

This is not an error and don't waste your time doing what the other comment says.

PS: This information is existing on TF for some time. Before creating a separate thread, please spend the same amount of time to search for the information first. Redundant posts do no good for anybody.

Oh, is it?

I do know that IDFC doesn't report the actual card number but an (credit) account number associated with the credit card number. Whereas, Citi will report the credit card number as it is.

What does HDFC follow? Credit card number or some credit account number?

HDFC mostly replicates your credit card number but replaces one or two digits for setting the account number. This is a recent change made this year and I have personally written to credit card support to verify the same.

This account number can also be used as an NEFT account number to repay your credit card dues.

Thanks for pointing this out. New learning.
I will delete my first post of this thread.
