Sometimes i really get concerned regarding whats going on in our country.
example -
DEl - TLV flight cost - 40-50k roundtrip . 2500 miles
TLV - LHR - 8-10k roundtri. 2500 Miles
So you see difference is 4-5x not lets see for some popular routes
Delhi to frankfurt - 50-70k round trip - 4000 miles
DXB - LHR - 30-45K round trip - 3800 miles (for airlines like swiss its in range 35-45)
DUB - MUC - 10K round trip - 800 miles with legacies like british airways and Lufthansa
DEL - BOM - 9-10 round trip - 700 miles..
I didnt even talk about wizz air and ryanair if i talk about them difference will be huge.
Bcoz Indigo is more or less same like ryanair and wizzair. slightly more comfortable due to that legroom. but triple fares LOL
Indigo marketing as low cost airline more or less is bagging up huge profits or a huge mismanagement. Bcoz Indian pilots earn way less and indian landing fees ground services is way cheaper compared to europe.

before anyone talks about aircrafts sweet spot lemme just mention its only the widebodies with sweet spot between 3-4k miles. where they give best "mileage" in simpler terms. where as aircrafts indigo operates the airbus a320 family. has a sweet spot for 800-2500 miles. so indigo is already operating it in the sweet spot. best fuel efficiency. Then who is bagging up all the money? Corruption? Heavy taxes?

Well whenever any flight try to compete with them for example akasa , indigo will just start two new flights with cheaper rates around same time as akasa flight. People will prefer the cheaper one and then indigo simply delay one flight and combine two flights folkes if seats weren't booked enough meanwhile akasa don't get enough customers.

An airline just folded due to its own mismanagement. Fares are bound to rise up especially without any govt airline. Capitalism.

Overall the situation is just slightly worse than usual affordable rates considering only two airlines exist worth traveling on: indigo and tata.

Also selectively speaking del bom, while it is a short route, is an extremely busy route worldwide.

DXB has more Pax my guess. as we have 6 A380 alone flying this route daity by british eitihad emirates and qatar. It is considered one of the most competitive routes in world

You are comparing dxb lhr to del bom. Apple and oranges. But anyways 2.6 million to 6.9 million pax in 22. Why do you think Air India and indigo both ordered 400 plus aircraft?

3 of those airlines Etihad Emirates and Qatar are govt owned airlines. Plus they can sponsor economy seats by their business and first class products.

Look we can argue but it is not as bad as people think it is.
A person going from del to bom won't go to bkk just because the del bkk flight is cheaper. International flights aren't booked 1 day in advance as frequently as domestic flights are.

The comparision was never in that point. anyways true not to argue.
European budget carriers manage to fly even less demand routes for 1-2/3 of price of Indigo. My son is studying in this Industry i know about a bit about this. Theres a specific reason i insisted in international studies. Indian study was costing nothing in comparision of germany. and about indigo and air india. These ordered aircraft will be delivered veyr slowly over years. Theres no denying you agree or not. There is some monoply type thing in the industry. 1.5-2 years ago hyd - ccu flights were 1900-2000 pretty well off season. now the same are minumum 5-6k. theres no hell a reason that prices tripled.
My clear communication is regarding european airlines are able to operate routes with much much lower rates than indian whereas indian industry maintenence is cheaper compared to europe

Europe domestic model is very different from India domestic. India has only one airport per City. Whereas major European cities have multiple regional airports. And these airports compete against themselves to provide airlines lucrative options to serve them. Look up ryanair airport subsidies.

Things are changing in India as well with Navi Mumbai and Noida airport. But India still needs a lot of time for other cities. And there's no point in developing faster than the airlines capacities.
