If the Income Tax Department is so keen to verify sources of income, they have all the tools needed to trace and monitor accounts directly. Instead, they place the burden on the public, forcing people to waste time and money on chartered accountants to justify every single rupee. Even after staying up day and night to compile all the required documents, it often ends with a simple case closure. Who should suffer in this process? The IT department, ideally, as it’s their job. But instead, it's the public that suffers due to the department’s unwillingness to do the work of tracing transactions themselves.
In India, we already pay 30% tax on our hard-earned money, yet see little in return compared to the benefits citizens of countries like Bangladesh or Pakistan receive. Additionally, we pay GST on almost every item, and on top of that, the government demands income tax as well. Essentially, we are left to shoulder a never-ending burden of paying "tax on tax" just to feed a government that offers Nothing in return.
Even govt takes tax from us & feeds poor people then also it feels like we are not wasting money by paying tax.
In America people with no income or poor people get a monthly food voucher that works in every supermarket worth $300-400 (approx.), worth paying tax...
