I am bloody optimistic (sanguine) that HDFC will NOT Approve it.

In the last 3 years, nothing changed much - either in my CIBIL score or in my income levels or any other metrics.

So, when they (HDFC) did not give even a co-branded Swiggy card to me, or even the most unwanted basic card - in the last 3 years - I see no reason why their stupid Chennai office will give now - notwithstanding it is a PhonePe co-branded one.

On the flip side, my age is now 65 and I have 15-20 CCs. CIBIL is hovering around 798-804 range.

Unless HDFC is really feeling the heat from SBI-PhonePe and are really desperate, they should decline my form.

I am not exactly excited nor too hopeful. But, let's see.

Today got an email/SMS ALERT from HDFC. Saying that the application is ON HOLD for want of KYC details/dox.

They stated a factually incorrect fact.

My HDFC SBMax is FULLY KYC Compliant. Even my HDFC APP says so. PAN n AADHAAR verified via OTP when applying.

What is missing then ?

HDFC's stupid Chennai Office did not disappoint me. They continue to function incoherently n totally unconnected.

The best part - they DID NOT ask me to submit anything or DO anything. No mention of any email-id to subit or mail them to their notorious Chennai Office or hand them over in any nearest branch or some chap will come to collect them in my house.

Strange way to launch a co-branded card.

Many small SFBs did a much better job than this.

Nearly 50 days back, I sent attested copies to their Chennai office for LE & upgradation. Since then they have been playing offline-online drama😕 Even, I wrote to the grievance dept but it's time has been extended twice.
Recently, have applied for SBI Phonepe Black & got it.

Applied - on Wednesday.

PAN n AADHAAR - OTP authenticated.

HDFC Login-id - OTP authenticated.

SMS/Email - says wait for 3 or 4 days.

Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, TODAY Sun - 5 days.

No response to my eMail. Customer care team says they can't see any data of this card. Only SB a/c is visible.

HDFC remains HDFC.

Just send a mail to pno directly.

Just now, PhonePe App is updated.
The home page now shows the current status of my CC application.

It now says - Bank Verification is in progress.

Stupid HDFC being Stupid HDFC, is living to it's standards.

AFTER I have OTP authenticated my PAN, then my Aadhaar and my HDFC Account Login credentials and my Address at the time of application, PhonePe App asked me to complete VKYC. That too was done. My photo n PAN photo taken. Then the App says - Bank Verification is ON.

Today, I get another email saying the Application is STILL on HOLD.

ASKED me to submit a 1-page application, my ITR, my address proof, my identity proof n send them all, self-attested, to their NOTORIOUS CHENNAI OFFICE.

What's the use of the earlier VKYC ? And, why the hell was so many OTP Authentications necessary ? More so, if I am supposed to submit them all again to their lousy Chennai guys ?

ABSOLUTELY STUPID N ILLOGICAL WAY OF HDFC.

Decided NOT to proceed further.

Today, at 3am, PhonePe App has permitted me to apply HDFC Phonepe 1499/- card.

Completed form filling and PAN verification. Number generated.

See the SS.

App says do eKYC/VKYC. Opted for eKYC. OTP approval for Aadhaar done, then HDFC LOGIN credentials verified - being HDFC SB Customer.

Form finally accepted by HDFC and a number generated. Asked me to wait for 3-4 days for the final decision.

Waiting at the card approval n generation stage.
Cibil hit ?

Sir you can visit your nearest hdfc branch and contact the credit card section. They will provide necessary information and forward the documents to the chennai office from the branch itself

His complaint is not about sending it to hdfc chennai . Chennai office is notorious for putting everything on hold and ping-ponging with unnecessary doc requests etc.
