Offer Fulfilled! My Experience with IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card Application

Hey everyone!

I recently applied for the IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card on 8th September and wanted to share my experience with you all.

I applied for the card online, and the process was super smooth. I completed all the required formalities online, including the VKYC (Video KYC), which was pretty straightforward. To my surprise, the card got approved within minutes! By the next day, I could already see the card in my RBL app, which was a pleasant surprise.

One thing to note: the card limit is shared with my existing RBL World Safari Credit Card, which might be the case for others who already have an RBL card. For anyone interested, I highly recommend this card if you have an existing RBL credit card, as the approval process is fast and easy. You can apply by visiting the official page.

Edit 1: The points are visible in or around 48 hours on the app after your bill is generated.

Edit 2: There is no points breakdown for you to check. My advise is to use this card solely for fuel in the multiples of 100 and simply calculate 15 points per 100. This reduces your stress and would help you check if the points are credited correctly.

Edit 3: The joining bonus will take 90 days to credit.

Edit 4: like other fuel cards chances are that you might not get the accelerated rewards for fuel bought from IOCL bunk. To eradicate this, ensure you ask the attendant to use the IOCL machine. Tip: keep the slip with you in case you are not sure about the machine or travelling long distances. In case points are not credited just send the bank the copy of the slip and you’re good to go.

Edit 5: RuPay variant is also live and gives you access to UPI payments. This can make you inch towards your 2,75000 mark. I’ve better cards for UPI so I’m still using the Mastercard.

Edit 6: points are calculated basis your billing cycle and not calendar month. I know this self explanatory but many were confused.

Edit 7: To redeem fuel points from your RBL IOCL credit card:

1. Convert Points: Convert your RBL fuel points to IndianOil XTRAREWARDS Points (XRP) via the RBL Bank app or website.

2. Redeem at Pump: Use your mobile number linked to XTRAREWARDS at any participating IndianOil fuel station. You'll get an OTP to confirm the redemption, which you can then use for fuel purchases.

3. Ensure Account: Make sure you have an XTRAREWARDS account. If not, create one using your phone number on the IndianOil app or website.

Remember, redemption can only be done at IndianOil outlets.

Edit 8: To create an XTRAREWARDS account:

1. Online: Visit the IndianOil website or use the IndianOil ONE app. Fill out the registration form with your details like name, mobile number, and vehicle number. Your mobile number will be your identifier.

2. At a Pump: You can also sign up at an IndianOil Retail Outlet. Provide your details, and you might get a physical card or just use your registered mobile number.

Tip: ensure your phone number is same as the one you used for your credit card.

Membership is free, and once enrolled, you earn XTRAREWARDS Points (XRPs) on fuel purchases, which can be redeemed instantly for fuel. (https://iocl.com/loyalty-programmes)

RBL had given me limit 25k only at the time of approval
Today after 7 months there is limit enhancement offer 25 k to 38 k
It's very low should I go ahead or wait for better

Accept it. The max usage of this card is 25k per month, not beneficial beyond that.

goahead. I had 3.5L limit at RBL last yr, but thry dropped it to 35k for god knows why and my usage was anyways almost nothing at RBL so I didn't bother but then I got IOCL card and I started using that card for fuel religiously, and I got a limit inc till 58k so I took it.

don't know abt upper limit, I have redeemed 10k+ pts, never got a prob.

Fee is 99+gst for converting rbl fuel pts to xrp. You pay that to rbl.

Indian oil doesn't charge fee at station for final redemption of xrp.

hey, can you tell in detail how to redeem points at indian oil station? what to tap etc, as the personnel may not be well versed with this mode of payment. Also, while converting reward points into xtra points on rbl website, i wasnt informed of any 99 rs fees as you have written about..

@dashmesh2203 I would appreciate if you read a bit about iocl xtra rbl card. Put in some efforts, if you get prob then surely anyone would love to help you but u saying this feature in in xyz card but not here it doesn't work like that.

Most personnel know how to redeem points, don't worry. Just go there, get Indian oil machine, and then put amount (basis on 3x the value), and then rather than selecting card, select rewards. It's very easy, u can even do it via directly indian oil app via QR code. The app got updated today btw (iPhone, idk abt android). Make sure u transfer/convert rbl points to xrp first.

Fee is 99+GST, it will reflect in your statement, portal might not show but it is in their t&c, so doesn't matter.

So this can be done in few ways,

1. Check statement (monthly, not current) in statement, you will see a bonus gift icon next to your fuel trxns, if you see those, then you have zero worry that points are credited correctly or not. Just bonus gift icon next to trxn on statement is needed.

2. If all your tranxns have gift icon, and you have done less than 13.5k trxn in total(coz of the 2k bonus points cap), than all you gotta do is total amt - 7.5%, that 7.5% the amount let's say is 500 rs, then your points should be 1000. It will show on bottom right of the statement. Remember it is 7.5% on total amt, and 1% is given back separately next statement for surcharge. GST isn't returned.
