SBI Card PhonePe SBI Card – CVP new SBI CC launching

hat's why SBI declined my application. It's the G.O.A.T card in Rupay Category CC. HDFC Neu or Jupiter Edge or Kiwi Rupay are far behind it.
When speaking about Rupay and UPI payments, i mostly see offline shopping UPI payments where most of them doesnt have credit card POS machines. For UPI payments - HDFC Neu infinity gives 1.5% which is more than this card. This card only gives 1% for UPI spends. Super money gives 3% cb for all the UPI payments which is better than this card. This card is only good utilities spends. If you have online spends, SBI CB card would any way give 5% cb and it gives higher CB than this card due to the way of calculation phone card uses (multiplies of 100)

Btw an update - if you have an Airtel Black Postpaid connection, you won’t be able to pay off its dues from anywhere else other than the Airtel Thanks app it seems. So the SBI PhonePe Select Black CC won’t be useful for that particular bill, Airtel Axis Bank CC would come handy for that.

The Super Money card is essentially useless due to its strict ₹500 monthly capping. NeuCoins are equally frustrating, as they force redemption only within the Tata universe, which holds no appeal for me. When comparing the PhonePe x SBI and SBI Cashback cards (Phonepe with a favorable 1:1 statement credit option), the SBI Cashback card offers a significantly higher monthly limit (₹5,000 vs. ₹2,000). However, the higher potential is offset by the SBI Cashback card's longer list of MCC exclusions, which may negate the benefit by excluding rewards on common spending categories.

500 capping is like 16667 which is more than enough for my monthly offline upi vendor spends. Bigger spends usually accept credit cards, so no need to UPI spends. So, for usually UPI spends, I still repeat super money is way better as it gives 3% cb upto 16,667 monthly while phonepe card just offers 1% (just 167 rs) cb which is just basic Cashback on UPI. I'm not saying phonpe sbi card is bad, I'm just saying it's not the best card for UPI spends at vendors.

How come cashback capped at ₹500 per billing cycle is 16,667 ??

Got it. Mine UPI Spends is between 22-27k per month mostly.
For 22k spends on UPI payments at vendors with phonepe sbi card, you get 220/- which is still less than Axis super money card. Moreover, Axis super money card is LTF card which is icing on the cake. So, there is no harm in having the card while phonpe card has 1.5K annual fees. I seriously expected more rewards for scan and pay UPI payments from this card given it comes from phonepe who has they own app for UPI payments. At least they could have gave us more rewards for UPI payments with the merchants using phonepe UPIs
