great, but what about UPI scan at street vendors using phonepe? are they considered online as well? technically they are online as they UPI transactions?

Can you please confirm, which app do you use this CC on for UPI scan transactions where you get 5% CB @Abhishek012 ?
Phonepe in app transaction - Rc, bill pay, insurance, flight, hotel, pincode (Grocery) etc - 10% cb via UPI (Pay through phonepe app linked UPI)
Note - you can also use direct card transaction for 10% cb on phonepe app.
Online UPI on other website - 5% cb except exclude categories (Use any UPI app)
offline UPI - 1% cb (Use any UPI app)

That's why SBI declined my application. It's the G.O.A.T card in Rupay Category CC. HDFC Neu or Jupiter Edge or Kiwi Rupay are far behind it.
So you’re telling me that within the PhonePe app, if I pay utility bill via either the SBI PhonePe Black CC via RuPay CC UPI, or through direct card transaction, in both cases I’ll get 10% CB?!
And does PhonePe charge equal convenience fees in both the cases?

In the sms it was mentioned Annual fees/ Joining fees - 1499/0

Utility bill payment - The direct card transaction has the lowest Convenience fee.
Prepaid/Postpaid recharge - UPI transaction has the lowest Convenience fee.
Insurance payment - both card and UPI transaction has same Convenience fee.
Note - for some billers/discom companies, the Convenience fee rate may be higher or lower. Check with both payment modes once before paying.

I asked customer care regarding this but they said my card is chargeable and not FYF. But the sms clearly says no joining fees
Did cc gave confirmation to you that it's FYF?

I don't contact customer care for these matters. I already know what will be their answer. My statement will be generated today and I will get statement in the mail tomorrow. DM me tomorrow and I shall be able to tell you.
I too got this sms when i applied but later they charged the fees in the first statment
